I have had no issues with Poloniex but they do tend to disable coins for weeks without warning, which sends the price down hard because the volume of Poloniex is really low. Especially during bull runs. So it might not be a scam but it is sketchy.

On the pro side they do not enforce mandatory KYC unlike other exchanges.
