Why do you make a comparison between Girona who is in La Liga and an English team like Manchester City who is currently in the Champions League and is also in a not bad position in the Premier League? I don't think that the two teams can be compared well enough because I think the strengths of Girona and Manchester City are very different. So Real Madrid must be able to provide more different resistance to Manchester City because the team is still quite strong this season and still has to be really taken into account by Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Girona of La Liga, and the competition there, is completely different from what we are seeing in the Champions League. If Manchester City plays in the same league as Real Madrid and Girona, Girona will not be near the top of the table, but will most likely remain below these two teams. The match between Manchester City and Real Madrid will be extremely difficult to determine who will win. However, in order to advance to the next round of the Champions league competition, they must demonstrate their team's determination and prowess. I don't think both teams are happy with their meeting right now; they would have preferred to meet later. Although the meeting now will also be an advantage for the team that will qualify as it clears a more prospect path to lead them to the final and winning the title.
