Yeah Joselu has nothing to do compared to Benzema and you dont need to know much about football to agree to that, but this Real Madrid have a super Jude Bellingham so the real comparision can be Benzema against Bellingham. Is the same Real Madrid with better middle for me, and a little minor power in foward.
Joselu made it clear that he didn't come to Real Madrid to replace Benzema but to enjoy football. Real Madrid's inability to sign a natural striker has put more responsibility on the 34-year Spaniard. We might say that his performance so far cannot be compared with make Benzema made in the club but he has also been a great help to the club. He has been involved in some goals and has also created some assists. Benzema came to Madrid as a young striker and gradually improved in his performance, on the contrary, Joselu has somehow passed the prime of his career which means that Madrid needs to get a young traditional number nine. This is because the club will not continue to depend on midfielders for goals.

Whenever a team wants to buy a player to take the place of older players they lost, they will usually choose the younger players to take their place because we know Joselu couldn't be a long-term option to fill the place of Benzema in Real Madrid. Joselu is already a 33-year-old player.
I think the first option they had was Mbappe in the beginning and they wanted to just focus on Mbappe and hiring this player instead of going to the other options.
However the performance of Joselu was not that bad when he started playing in Real Madrid, but I guess after Mbappe joined this team, Joselu will not have the chance to play anymore. Real Madrid knows the important maths like the Champions League matches, they have to go for better players like Mbappe instead of Joselu.
