Real Madrid still occupy the top spot in La Liga and they are 8 points ahead of Barcelona. This season though we think Real Madrid have a good chance of winning the La Liga title. However, both Barcelona and Real Madrid have currently qualified for the Champions League and are focusing heavily on that. In particular, I don't think Barcelona will focus too much on La Liga this season, maybe they will focus more on the Champions League. Since Barcelona is more likely to win the Champions League with PSG, they are more focused on the Champions League right now. But a much more interesting game between Real Madrid and Manchester City will be in the Champions League, that's why Real Madrid is facing a tough time in the Champions League. However, it is very easy for Real Madrid to win La Liga at the moment because Barcelona will focus more on the Champions League at the moment. And if Barcelona don't compete with Real Madrid in La Liga then they are definitely leaning more towards Champions League and they will perform well in Champions League to win the title.
I actually do not agree with the point that you made which is,
Barcelona is not going to concentrate on La Liga too much. That's because Barcelona has to concentrate on La Liga otherwise, Barcelona is going to give up the second position to other clubs. I'm sure Barcelona would like to finish in the second position. And with all the current controversy and rumors about the coach going on, I hope they are able to do so because if they drop points and go down the table right now, the coach is going to leave and the new coach that is going to come, is probably not going to do a better job. Remember I am not saying give up Champions League. I am saying they have to concentrate on both. But concentrating only Champions League might be detrimental for them because they might end up not doing well in both competitions.
