The decision taken by governor Alex otti to scrap out the law backing pension payments to ex governors and their deputies is a bold and commendable move. It shows commitment to responsible governance and the efficient use of public funds. The step is a great one  and example for other leaders to follow, especially with the predicament and challenges facing our nation.
 
Sincerely, these ex governors don't need the pension those funds can be channelled or redirected to more pressing needs such as infrastructural development or social welfare programs, it can bring a positive impact on the states and its citizens. Some of the amount spent on  some state ex governors and their deputies is outrageous. In Nigeria, the position of a governor is a juicy one. We all know the benefits that these governors are their deputies benefit during their tenure in office, both their families, friends, associates and allies benefits. Why not scrap out pension for ex governors and their deputies and use the funds for effective projects.
