Another sidelines that could affect the club is Alonso's decision at the end of the season to actually settle with Leverkusen for an extra season or not, because as it stands now some big clubs are requesting for his coaching service, and if he stays or not, that's decision alone can influence many of the players decision about their future in Leverkusen against next season.
Well things are looking very good for Xabi Alonso, but personally I think he will not leave Leverkusen, what made him tremble was when he would probably have to go to Madrid if they opted him, in fact the rumor circulated a lot, I do not know if you remember it, but Xabi Alonso was probably going to be Ancelotti's replacement, what helped Xabi Alonso to stay at Leverkusen was Ancelotti, I think all Leverkusen fans must love Madrid now because they managed to convince Ancelotti to stay, otherwise we would not have Xabi one or 2 more seasons in Leverkusen, I think Xabi will stay, he wants to try the UCL with the team, he wants to see where he has reached his level, this is something that mainly can bring good news for him as for any Leverkusen fan, this is beneficial for all of them, because for Liverpool he will not leave, and for Bayern even less, I think if he does something like that, they would call him a traitor, and that is not very good for his career.
It is Xavi's call to make either to stay at Leverkusen or leave, for which am optimistic he's going to stay but eventually if he doesn't by the end of season I don't think he has done anything wrong to be seen as a traitor but rather he should be appreciated by the Leverkusen fans for possibly lifting the trophy for them after so many years. But it will be for good to Xavi Alonso's career if he stays with Leverkusen as he has a better shot at making and achieving much success there than in any other club, and this is evidence in the results he is getting with the club right now.
This was the similar mistake Frank lampard of Chelsea made while he was doing great at Rangers he left for Chelsea where there was so much pressure and high expectations from him which he couldn't handle with the team and that had to affect his career badly, so I think Alonso stay with Leverkusen for more seasons will be good for his career scoresheet.
