I think the main reason Xavi resigned is because of the pressure that he is facing as Barcelona boss, especially from the Spanish media and journalists, Xavi has had problems with the press since he became manager and i believe he could not take it anymore. Barca's financial problems also contributed to the Spaniard leaving, but i don't believe that is the main reason he is leaving the club. Barcelona must look for a new manager now, with their limited funds. There is no speculation for now on who will take over from Xavi, but the person is going to have a huge job to do.
This might still be a strategy to get him resigned, However, It is a good thing that he resigned the job than to get sacked by the Barcelona management board ,However, in my opinion Xavi stay at Barcelona hasn't yielded much of result so far, that is to try to bring back Barcelona to its usual glory, therefore it is right time they give another manager chance to try to fix things up with the Barcelona team.
Barcelona management will not fire Xavi, because they have to bear compensation if they do, we know that Barcelona is experiencing a serious financial crisis. Xavi decision to resign was indeed very correct, of course there were many reasons that he did not reveal to the media, and the information we got may only be a small part of what actually happened inside Barcelona.
What is clear is that Barcelona management will have difficulty finding a new successor, especially if they are looking for a quality and big-name coach. Apart from that, competition to find a new coach will also be very tight next season, considering that several other big European clubs are also looking for new coaches. If clubs from the SPL join in the competition, it will be increasingly difficult for Barcelona to compete.
Meanwhile, we'll see how far Xavi can take Barcelona to achieve success this season, where their opportunities in the Champions League are more open than in La Liga. If Barcelona can win a trophy, then it can help them gradually get out of the financial crisis. I predict that Xavi will not change his attitude, meaning he will still resign next season.
