I won't say they care very much of their reputation here, but if they pay so many people to wear their signature and avatar advertisment it's not for nothing. Bitcointalk has still a big weight in the cryptouniverse and is well referenced by Google. So I think updating your thread could be a good way to prevent them from forgetting your case or doing whatever they want with you.
