It is true that recently Madrid have started trying to build a game without Modric and it makes sense that what Ancelotti wants to implement is still very much in progress so that when Modric retires, stability can still be maintained. I am also sure that with Madrid young players they are trying to cover Modric position and can be said to be successful. Regarding his future, we would like Modric to be part of the staff because it would be quite helpful for Ancelotti to train his players. But if the decision goes to SPL, everything will still be fine. Unlike Kross, who extended his contract for one more season with Madrid, it's a shame that these two Madrid legends had to part ways.
It has even happened since the last 2 seasons where sometimes they try to get used to playing without Modric if their matches are not too important in order to give opportunities to some young players to get used to playing without Modric in the Madrid squad .
We can now see that the responsibility for the midfield has finally been handed over to the youngsters and i think it could still be a good situation even if Modric leaves eventually . He only has a few months left on his Madrid contract before he leaves as a free agent as his contract is due to expire in June but there is no deal in place at the moment which means he could leave after the season . But even so he will remain a Madrid legend because his devotion is undeniable because he has continued to fight and continue to make a good contribution to Madrid for a decade .
For his future i think there is still no guarantee where he will go but if he really want comfort then surely the SPL is the right place to be the last destination before he decides to retire cause after all with him in the SPL then indirectly money will flow easily at the end of his professional career .
