I think Xabi has made the right decision even though most people really regret what happened where Xabi rejected the offer to become coach of Bayern Munich and Liverpool, but looking at the quality and stability of Leverkusen current performance there is still big chance that next season will perform well.
Unless there are some problems that occur that might affect Leverkusen performance and make their condition worse, I just not sure that Leverkusen will experience serious problems as long as they all work well.
In addition, Leverkusen will participate in the UCL competition next season and that is good opportunity for Xabi to show his performance as great coach by keeping Leverkusen competitive even though they have bigger and stronger opponents.
Moreover, even though for now Xabi has rejected the offer, there is still possibility that next season Bayern Munich will make the same offer again.
And the priority for these two teams now is that Bayern Munich is focused on the UCL competition which has reached the quarter-finals and Xabi is focused on bringing Leverkusen to the semifinals of the Europa League so they can continue fighting to win the title.
Well Xabi who’s improved this Leverkusen squad and has increased their tally for going unbeaten this season to 39 games run and they’re now considered the winners of the Bundesliga already and a very strong contender for the UEL. The way he’s shaped this Leverkusen side to success has made him put his name on the limelight for some jobs.
The likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool who are in need of a coach for next season came with an offer and we all expected Xabi to want to leave Bayern to a better team. Well Xabi had his plans and he just let that out through accepting to be at Leverkusen for some more years and now you begin to wonder.
Well I don’t think his decision was a bad one as this Leverkusen side aren’t looking like a team that will struggle next season rather I still believe they have every possibility of winning the league again next season except Bayern gets a very experienced coach and a key addition to their already failing squad. Also Leverkusen are in the UCL and Xabi taking this team to the UCL and doing well will be a very big boost to his CV and I feel he’s also wanting to get the UCL experience with Leverkusen before going for bigger jobs.
As such, I don’t see anything wrong in him getting committed to the club for another year, so I feel other clubs should try to let him be and try again next season or next 2 seasons because man is really concentrated and composed on achieving a lot with this Leverkusen side and we just can’t help than wish him luck in his path.
