The cost of things has gone up so much so that it's glaring. Imagine paying 5-12$ for an average meal you could get before for 3$. The jump cost is extremely high. Cooking a meal at home can cost you the same amount you would spend on eating in a restaurant. Funny enough people still afford all these things without complaining. My anger is that we make money to spend it all into our normal life expenses. It's difficult now to save or invest unless you part of the rich people in society. An average man has to just eat, pay bills, and survive.
A simple question for the OP is what is the purpose of work? All answers will lead to a point where needs are things that must be met regardless of whether the price is expensive, very expensive or very unaffordable. If we work, we will still get an average salary according to rising or falling inflation and it will continue to correlate with the prices of the goods we buy. Everyone has different purchasing criteria if it is not suitable to buy at an expensive price, there are still other cheaper options. It's all just a matter of taste but as I said above, we will do whatever we can and meet our needs to survive.
“What is the purpose of work?”
We can all go philosophical here or we can answer it literal. I guess it is just a bit devastating to see that all our life we would be enslaved into working just so we can meet our needs. The thing is the more we work, the more the prices of goods even increase. Which never allows us to stop working. Unless you manage to become super rich, you will forever be enslaved to the workplace.
Work is more than clocking in and getting paid. This endless grind, right? Life becomes more expensive as we bust our asses. We feel like we're on a treadmill, working hard but getting nowhere. That's genuine, not a hippy-dippy notion. This "enslaved to the job" notion is weighty, but is it just our perspective? Many people detest their work and feel stuck. But are we slaves or are we accepting this unending hustling as the only way? Despite their wealth, the filthy rich are slaves to fancier things
Everything is rigged to keep us in circles. No one makes you do that. This is about regaining control and thinking differently. Our mindset, not work, is the issue. Instead of quitting your career, make it work for you
