It is true that when a club sets such a high price for a player, it actually says that this player is not for sale, but if a buyer is found for such a high price and they will be able to make an appropriate replacement, for this money. On the other hand, I constantly see how prices for players are constantly rising, if earlier it was a wonder to hear the amount of 100 million, now it has become the norm for almost any top club.

Sometimes is not because they don't want to sell the player, it's because the player might be an assets to them and it's an opportunity to make a ton of money if demand comes from other clubs. For instance, take a look at Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Osimhen, and Bellingham, these players are expensive because of their contributions to their individual teams. Haaland is now the highest goal scorer in the Premier League and one of the best in the Champions League, any team that want to have him will have to cough our money.

Though, these days, players are now over hype and inflated with prices. These days, we don't have players that are that skilled like we do have during the days of Ronaldinho, Kaka, Zidane and many of them and yet their price tags weren't this expensive but today what we have are just goal scorers and tapping that make their usual contributions and get endorsed for performance, we really need to do better with these prices.
