Things started to go upside down for Marseille once again these days. They lost their last two games. Maybe those games weren't the most comfortable ones but I would still expect to see better performances than that. 0 goal against PSG and Rennes combined... They couldn't score against PSG home while their opponent was playing with 10 players either. 
These results caused the gap with the fourth position to reach seven points. There are Nice and Lens between as well so Marseille are just making things really difficult for themselves by that. While there are seven weeks left I started to think Marseille won't be making it to the Champions League.
Marseille was one of the best clubs in French Ligue 1 with usually we have PSG, Marseille and Monaco at the top but in this season we have big setbacks for them with Lyon stay in relegation zone and now having spot into middle of the league table and Marseille which was doing good again having three matches losing streak with now in next game they are going to play against Lille which is currently at the fourth spot and want to secure their place for the fourth spot having good performance can give them bad result which will be surely going to be worst for the Marseille because in case of lost they could be also lost their chance for ending at the fourth spot in this season.These results caused the gap with the fourth position to reach seven points. We are having serious decline in quality and consistency in all top Ligue 1 clubs which is matter of concern for them with French soccer federation also needs to do something for the improvement in quality and performance because this is surely going to have problem for them as well in the future.
Jean-Louis Gasset also cannot bringing significant progress for Marseille performance because recently Marseille has suffering 2 losing streak at Ligue 1 and the latest is they were lost from PSG and i know Marseille still playing at Europa League but their chances to gets the trophy from that competition is very small and probably they will be eliminated by Benfica and i think Marseille should be forget their target to achieve champion league zone because with only 7 matches remaining and 10 points below to Monaco i think their chances to finish at top 3 is very thin
