Next season will be a real challenge for Leverkusen. They will play in the Champions League and that is a high level competition. Xabi must be able to rotate players and add variations to match tactics. I think club management will give Xabi a budget to find the players he wants. And for tactics I think if you play at a level like the Champions League you really need a variety of tactics because strong teams from other leagues will look for your weaknesses. And if they find your weaknesses then the teams in the domestic league will also find out your tactical weaknesses if you lack tactics.
This is also the most decisive step for Xabi ALonso to show that he is worthy of managing the team. His decision to stay was also part of Xabi Alonso goal to bring Leverkusen back to experiencing the UCL competition with different strengths. The UCL clubs are certainly looking forward to the match against Leverkusen, because they have an unbeaten record of more than 40 matches. Certainly an attraction in itself, Xabi Alonso really wants to rise to a higher level next season. We can't predict much but Levekusen confidence in the Bundesliga clearly gives a positive aura for prestige in the Champions League.
The Champions League is much more competitive than the Bundesliga. We saw some lacking in the last European game of Leverkussen where they were down at home 0-2 from a team from Azerbaijan league like Qarabag and sure they finally managed to win the game 3-2 yet this shows that they have not yet the confidence needed in European competitions, that comes only with experience.I also agree and enjoy the choice of Xabi Alonso to stay in Leverkussen and try to bring back the glory they had in the 2000-s when they were playing and winning a final against Bayern Munchen in the Champions League,so surely is a great thing that he is staying.
