Most people are more interested in a quick hype, than anything with good tech. Proof of this statement: look at most altcoins, ICOs, DeFi, NFT and Ordinals. The large majority of it is BS, but because of the hype some people earn a lot of money (and many people no doubt lose money). Add the fact that many "users" don't even want to install their own wallet, and it becomes very difficult to get real users for something that could be good.

I'd even argue that even without all these things you've mentioned, the likes of Grin/XMR would still heavily struggle to gain adoption outside of DN markets. Bitcoin has struggled for so long(and is still quite struggling now) to gain adoption with all its evangelists, whereas these alternatives obviously don't have as many die-hard fans as bitcoin. They mostly just have libertarians/devs who think the tech is cool but without the same high-conviction buyers as bitcoin.
