I don't think Christian religion is against alcohol, the only religion wey i take know say they are against alcohol is Nigerian is Islamic, though their people too are drinking it, but they are the only religion wey i know say they are against it.
I don't know which of you religion you belong to and an argument like this everyone can speak from the religious they belong because that is where he or she can know more about the people. And as for me I am Christian and 99% of the people from my region are Christians And we all know that drinking alcohol as a believer is against the Christian Faith (believe), therefore if anyone found drinking alcoholic , we believe that that person is not a real believer of the Holy Bible. If today my Church people visit me in my house and see alcoholic drinks in my house then they would automatically confirmed that I have backslided from the Christian Faith.

Most Christian religion go against alcohol. This now depends on the doctrine of the church you are attending. Roman Catholic church doesn't go against it, but they are against excessive drinking.
I was a Roman Catholic church members for back then when I was still a teenager and I didn't see committed Catholic church member drinking alcohol.

Well, I don't know how close you are to church then. All I know is that alcohol is a case of choice when it comes to Roman Catholic. If you drink, that doesn't make you a sinner. You can check the below links on the Catholic teaching about alcoholism.

I have had catholic friends that do drink beer alot, so I totally agree it's a choice not about religion, because I have also seen Muslims who drink discreetly.

Drinking may be due to even weather conditions or just chilling with friends. It is drinking to stupor that is the sin in all thing called drinking.

Many people drink to escape the reality of their current predicament and that's the worst emotional moment to drink, because one wouldn't just know when they have had enough already.
