so I have a question. If someone were to send 1.01 BTC would they be included in just the >1 btc category or would they be included in all three categories?
No!
Each category is seperate. This is because if someone has only little BTC to invest, he has still a good chance of getting many coins in category 2. But he has no chance of entering category 4.
My guess is, that in the end, the NFD per satoshi invested will be the highest in category 2 then category 3 and the worst in category 4!
But you can enter all three categories if you send to all of them
