Atletico Madrid are coming back to the La Liga after a really valuable win against Dortmund. I think they will reach next phase in the Champions League as well. Simeone is doing his best to keep a balance between the Champions League and La Liga. However they are still under danger of finishing out of top four in the league. 
In this month they are playing two tough league games against Girona and Athletic Bilbao. Both are home ones which could be seen as advantage. If they collect 6 points from these games I will be more confident about them to finish in top four. Otherwise they might be in trouble.
I do agree that it is not a bad job by Simeone, dude has been managing that team for many years now and while there are some down years, he manages to make them come back and be better eventually. His system is not liked by many, he plays a very boring style of park the bus, and not only that makes it quite horrible to watch because it is not enjoyable, at the same time we have to agree that it works and if it works then he has no debt to anyone to make the game more entertaining and then lose, he is doing what he knows best and while it may not be entertaining he gets the wins and that's his goal.In this month they are playing two tough league games against Girona and Athletic Bilbao. So, I think he should be credited a lot more, he is an underrated manager, many who did less than him with better teams considered as better than him.
