What are your thoughts do you believe BTC will remain the greatest crypto currency in the world.
Bitcoin being the first decentralized cryptocurrency and was accepted by many countries will remain the greatest crypto currency in the world. The mere fact that other cryptocurrencies were forked of Bitcoin states that the place of Bitcoin being the major cryptocurrency to revolutionize the financial system gives a strong impression that Bitcoin is already leading other cryptocurrencies in terms of greatness. No other cryptocurrency get near to the milestones achieved by Bitcoin.
I believe Bitcoin will always be the greatest cryptocurrency in the world and no one will ever take its place.
.. but with the implementation of CBDCs and the ease of digital payments it will not survive as a currency but as a speculative investment.
The question is, are these CBDC fall under the category of cryptocurrency? According to Investopedia, CBDCs are not cryptocurrency so I believe that CBDC is already out of the competition of being the greatest cryptocurrency.
Though the idea for central bank digital currencies stems from cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, CBDCs aren't cryptocurrencies. A central bank controls a CBDC, whereas cryptocurrencies are almost always decentralized, meaning they can't be regulated by a single authority, such as a bank.
