Who else is monitoring Girona? I don't like what I am seeing now and it is looking like the champions league next season will slip through them. I just notice that with 7 matches to go, Athletic Bilbao can displace them if they win all their matches. Even though Girona is third in the league now, it is certain that Athletico Madrid will overtake them, leaving them to battle with Bilbao for a position at the champions league. This is a bad one for Girona considering that there was a time they were fighting to lift the La Liga title this season.
Girona faces Cadiz, a team they ought to win and secure their 3 points but I'm seeing that they will not find it easy winning Cadiz because the later is fighting to escape relegation.
Why don't you just put your post into a question and ask yourself what you think how likely it is that Athletic Bilbao will win all of their remaining 7 matches? When did they win 7 matches in a row the last time this season? I can tell you that their win rate is roughly 50%. Assuming that they win 6 matches and lose 1, which I think they won't, Girona needs to win 3 and can get 2 draws while losing 2 matches. I think it is highly unlikely that Girona will still mess this up and being so hypothetical about Athletic Bilbao winning all their remaining matches is like saying that AC Milan might still win the Scudetto. It is maths and that's all fine, but it would be a miracle for Bilbao to catch Girona.
