Who else is monitoring Girona? I don't like what I am seeing now and it is looking like the champions league next season will slip through them. I just notice that with 7 matches to go, Athletic Bilbao can displace them if they win all their matches. Even though Girona is third in the league now, it is certain that Athletico Madrid will overtake them, leaving them to battle with Bilbao for a position at the champions league. This is a bad one for Girona considering that there was a time they were fighting to lift the La Liga title this season.
Girona faces Cadiz, a team they ought to win and secure their 3 points but I'm seeing that they will not find it easy winning Cadiz because the later is fighting to escape relegation.
Basically Girona still has a good chance to keep finishing in the topfour, because Girona is also still in third position so that makes Girona position basically safeenough. Indeed, there are still Atletico and also Bilbao who pose a threat to Girona but still, it is difficult to overtake Girona in third place when the season is nearing its end. Also, about Girona next match against Cadiz, although Cadiz is trying to get out of the relegation zone but still, based on quality also ofcourse Girona still has better quality than Cadiz. Therefore, I personally am still very confident that Girona will remain in the top four and thus, next season Girona will play in the Champions League.
