So am just curious to know if these little games are the one's that got to him or already developed such habit and to know if possible that the practice will continue elsewhere after leaving there when he lost the money and to look for means through gambling to recover it.

How this person' see's the game will determine if the person will get addicted to it or not. What makes people to become addicted is the interest they put in the game which money can be generated by playing. If you play gamble for fun and not having so much interest in the money that can be made from gambling.
Playing gamble with friends won't really make one to become addicted, instead it is the mindset towards gambling that makes people to become addicted, that is why when you see a gambler he is inquisitive of grabing money from gambling and even to recover money lost while playing gambling.
