A beginner wont get addicted if he learns the math behind betting odds and casino games
Tbh most of people ignore it because the adrenaline rush from gambling is too much
Even if you know the math behind casino games or probability behind casino games, it wont help you to avoid addiction.
Addiction is more about mindset, emotion, and everything on how you deal with your own gambling habit.
Lets say you do not know the math behind the game, but you are so good in controlling your own gambling habits, you'll be able to avoid addiction.
Of course knowing the probability is good, because it will raise the awareness that our winning chance in gambling is smaller than the losing chance.
Obviously, you are right ,I kind of agree with you very much with how you control your habit towards gambling, In general self control is something we shouldn't take for granted in all we do, this way you won't do things that will push towards addiction, Therefore, for newbies to avoid being addicted to gambling they must avoid couple of things like, greed and avoiding risking way much than what they can lose, because risking too much triggers people to start chasing loses when they lose and this further graduates them into spending much time than what they should spend gambling, and Addiction now becomes the resultant effect.
