I think this decision so early by Liverpool to me is perfect, they were actually after Rúben Amorim the Sporting Lisbon manager but his signature is looking to be a headache for them as even the likes of West Ham United also interested, I love the way Liverpool switch which stretching much in there and possibly end up wasting their time. Arne Slot has done a great job at Feyenoord but he will definitely be under pressure to manage Liverpool. This is in no way associated to the reason that he hasn’t managed any premier league club before even the Klopp himself who left a legacy here came without any premier league experience with Dortmund his biggest club managed. But yet he delivered with the support he had.
So right now what Liverpool fans need is to give him their support and not put him under any early pressure for success it might be a bit tough at first because he also coming to meet a shattered team that needs rebuilding
I don't think Liverpool have a big interest in Amorim considering his tactical display is quite different to how Liverpool have been building tactical foundation. Amorim likes to play 3 Center Back at the back line, while Liverpool don't play that way. If Liverpool hire Amorim, they will need to rebuild this tactical foundation, and this will cost the academy players who have been developing with that Liverpool's tactical foundation.
Arne Slot suits Liverpool comfortably with his ability to build a squad at Feyenoord and develop it to the top achievement. He has energic gesture and speaks english fluently. These are some important criteria to be Klopp successor. Anyone replacing Klopp will be under pressure to match what Klopp has achieve, and he will inherite a great squad, unlike Klopp, when he came to Liverpool, inherited an average squad.
