Yes, the opportunity for self examination is not available for all gambling addicts. Sometimes it gets too compulsive for the player that he wouldn't comply to his decisions anymore. It's crucial that players have conversations with non gamblers once a while to know if they is any new changes in their habit. Personally looking into those changes is not always possible for every addict. People around the player are the right ones to detect such changes. Gamblers also develop the feelings of hiding their new discovery from others.

Not every player who is aware of his addiction will come straight to tell others about their pains and problem. Hence, controlling the impulse to gamble will be very hard on them. Emotionally it's not the addict's fault, he's only getting controlled by his feelings and thinks gambling secretly can help them out of addiction. Not knowing it's the worse form of handling addiction. That's why most of them get more addicted to the game, such that it's almost impossible to get better unless when intervened by other people.
It is difficult to tell others about his gambling addiction, especially if the gambling addict does not have anyone close to him. Maybe this will later become a dilemma for gambling addicts where they realize that they are addicted to gambling and want to cure it while they cannot tell other people.
This will make it difficult for gambling addicts to get help from other people because they cannot tell their problems to just anyone. That will only add to their problems in addition to their gambling addiction problem so they might just keep the problem.
When they become addicted to gambling and have difficulty controlling their emotions, they will not win but can suffer even bigger losses. They really have to get help so they can change their gambling habits or gambling addiction so they can heal themselves with help from other people apart from their strong desire to recover.
The moment you recognize you need help is larger than people think. Relief, possibly joy, humiliation, and dread are mixed in. Thats our mistake. Make it easy for folks to get there without baggage.

The concept of addiction requires a rebranding. Stop the stigma and see it as a challenge you can overcome with help. Resources must be accessible without absurd hoops. Meet folks where they are with apps, online support groups, whatever. No judgment, just entry.

This isnt only about the struggling person, right? Each win benefits everyone. Consider its effects on families and communities. Man, we must battle this. We can, given the appropriate approach.
