I just play the music loud enough that I can keep my privacy, I don't want to disturb anyone! No noise complaints to be had.

I listen to some good music so generally speaking I get no complaints about it. I'll consider wearing disposable earplugs like I do when I drive sometimes. Like the 3M neons.

I try to communicate my needs more clearly and my boundaries and I've improved my situation a lot. In the format of I don't like when you do X or you can't do Y because...What really didn't work well was doing the same as was done to me to prove an example. That almost never worked well for me. Just drags everyone down a peg.
