yeah, unless obama comes up with something like (landing on the asteroid in bugatti space shuttle, drilling 100m hole with hilti drill bits and blowing it to pieces detonating a russian nuke) armageddon style 
Without a real solution, we can't avoid death by an asteroid. If one is coming directly at us, it is just a matter of time before it wipes us out.
What makes you so sure? Thought you said technology moves fast?
