In the current situation voting is always rigged because its very obvious all the people currently active only want a return of investment as soon as possible due the fact they have been waiting and been lied to for 5 years already. So their vote will always go to whats best for their own pockets and not whats the best for the project itself in the long term.
Thats why decentralized projects normally have board with selected people both from the community and people that step in as advisors with experience in the crypto and business world.
Its very convient for the people running the project currently that the voting goes this way as they will benefit from this in the same way. Leaving the people they have dumped their tokens on empty handed once their pockets have been filled. Just like Dave has been doing for years already and is doing again now with his new alter ego WaveMan.
