A lot of social media influencers especially vloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their vlogs or videos.
I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.
I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their vlogs or videos?
Actually in advertising there's always a target audience but then the problem has been in the fact thst you can't be sure you are reaching out to those your audience alone, it's very possible others away from your audience is coming across the adds and you can't stop them and that's why there's parental controls on our home entertainment appliances.so these kids don't get to be exposed to sometimes they may get to regret it and move.
Some of those disadvantages are.the reason why some of these appliance gets to the target audience and not the parents.
That's right. Which is more of the reason why there's always a reminder from those influencers that gambling is for 18+ of age and above. Underage are not encouraged to start gambling as it is not a good for them. Aside from this reminder, influencers often say that if ever someone tried to gamble, they should gamble responsibly.
Advertising have a target market the same with promoting gambling. The only thing they can do is to put some reminders and it's responsibility on our side on how we will at least avoid or make the young ones to understand about those reminders about gambling.
