If addiction normally happens out of one's consciousness, then a gambler is supposed to be evaluating their gambling lifestyle once in a while to make sure that they are still in good conduct. In everything that someone is doing, self-reflection is very important. I don't know about others, but for me in particular, I do something at a time and I think about it all to see if it was really the right thing to do or not, and if I realize I have been doing the wrong thing all the while, then I will just retrace and put myself in place.
This means that in gambling, no matter how good your approach is, in the end, fun can still turn into tension along with some pressure, and this can usually also be caused by a gambler mismanaging the time to gamble, for example, they gamble at the wrong time when they are experiencing personal problems, which means that losing in gambling can make them get caught up in emotions even though their initial intention was only to find pleasure.
And maybe I will go back to saying something that I have previously said above that one of the tips so that we can slightly avoid the possibility of addiction is to apply full awareness driven by assertiveness to maintain that awareness, the goal is that we are able to identify whether what we are doing is right or wrong, almost the same as what you said above.
You are right mate. A gambler is not supposed to gamble when they are not mentally prepared for such activity because it can result to loses even in a situation where they are not supposed to lose. Gambling do with mental and emotional readiness, if someone is not prepared for such activities, they can never performan well and can never catch the fun they have even wanted to archive.
