My point is that XMR transaction cannot be analyzed for "AML risk score" like other cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum. So an exchange cannot arbitrarily ask for KYC if detected user's coins as "dirty".
But you are going to use monero along with other coins like Bitcoin, Litecoin, etc for exchanging so they can ask for KYC, and I already gave you an example of big centralized exchanges that have mandatory verification.
If you don't trust me you can try for yourself, register account on Kraken and send them your monero coins, see how long until they ask you to verify your account.
