We all know that we cannot play for a long time without being responsible players; we could go crazy, or we could lose all our money; at some point, you have to realize that you need to play responsibly, so I created this poll and this discussion to pick your reasons and explain it.

In my case, I have to lose a lot of money to realize I have to gamble responsibly if I don't want to break my finances and experience depression, so now I control myself and monitor my expenses, and I'm doing good with it.
Regret always comes at the end, not at the beginning. So, the most common answer must be "when I lost a lot of money".
Most of gamblers are stubborn and have a high ego. Only personal experience can make someone become a responsible gambler.
My golden principle when gambling now is, "gamble with the money you can afford to lose, do not gamble with your life"

Concerning gambling every gambler should have it at the back of his or her mind that you are bound to loosing inorder to get something in return but if you're aim is to just enjoy the fun you get while gambling then you have nothing to loose.
So with this you need to know that something must kill a man and when you know that, you have to limits every thing that will promotes that which is learning to be responsible without expecting anything in return.

Having the mindset that you will lose in gambling is a pretty good mindset, it's like you mentally prepare yourself to accept about the fact of defeat that will certainly occur when you are involved in gambling, and besides that having the point of view and belief that gambling is a place that is only for entertainment is also a good mindset, but I don't agree with your opinion about having intentions and goals for entertainment will not make us experience any losses.

Actually in gambling whatever your goal and no matter how good your goal is still the possibility of defeat will always be able to occur, even if for example you gamble with the intention of seeking entertainment, we must understand that the intention for entertainment and the intention to earn it has a different impact, which is where when you intend to earn then most likely you will gamble excessively because you are always chasing the win, But when you gamble with the intention of entertainment then surely you will easily stop when you already feel entertained, meaning that having the intention and purpose for entertainment does not mean that you will be free from the possibility of losing, but the amount of your defeat will not be too significant, and another thing yes I agree with you that is gambling without expecting anything in return.
