As others have said why would you want to vote in your own polls? These are just opinion polls, not decision-making polls. In addition you can simply write your opinion to the OP.

Opinion polls are usually done to find out the opinion of other members on a certain point. In other words, the goal of these polls is to know the opinion of others, not your opinion, so it is not necessary for you to vote.

@OP looks like SFR10 answered your question, and the reason behind the restriction seems to be pretty justified. if Theymos didn't implement those rules spammers/scammers could just manipulate their poll by creating endless new accounts.
