I was juts scrolling through Binance new and I saw an airdrop from Pepe coin worth over 1 million dollar and I clicked on it to see how I can participate in this amazing airdrop as I read through i saw that this airdrop to participate in it I needed to send them a tip and I was wondering if Binance now promotes scam or if this is ledgit, does anyone have experience with this or should i bail.
To be honest, I have never participated in an airdrop held through Binance, but one thing that we can use as a benchmark for whether it is a legit airdrop or a scam is when there is an order to send money, no matter how small, the money must be sent, even if the reason is for the network fee that's not normal, because as far as I know, a legit airdrop is just telling participants to do certain tasks instead of sending money, I mean if you want to get money for free you shouldn't have to send money first because that's already suspicious, so be careful because many fraudsters take advantage of this opportunity to gain profits in ways that are not usual to get airdrops but because airdrop hunters are not careful or are too greedy to get money so they don't try to find out first.
This is not an airdrop from Binance since there’s no way Binance will create an airdrop that requires tip from participants.
Recently, Binance already have the feed feature which any user can publish post such as this scam airdrop to lure people on participating with this scam airdrop. Binance feed is full of scam post which Binance doesn’t moderate.
Binance feed is like social media but of the post there is not reliable because scammer is using it to scam compared to the actual content creator sharing valuable post.
