If Lewandowski stays and Barcelona finds another striker, he might be facing a rough next season when it happens again that he can't deliver for several games in a row. This season it was still no problem for him as he didn't really have too much competition on his position, but his time may have come now and Xavi takes the consequences and lets him sit on the bench. The good times for him come to an end now I feel.
He head what’s been a top notch striker and there was and still is a lot of expectations on him after he signed up from Bayern Munich. He practically carried the team on his shoulders in that time but now, his different. He’s not been constituting a lot of threats for Barcelona and Xavi is really taking note of his game plays lately. He might have a few more season with the club but, his going to have difficulty finding game times. Fermin happens to have been the player to see Barcelona through in their mid week game and Lewandowski only managed to send out a few weak shots. His got more quality than that but, it’s lacking and Barcelona can’t give him ore playing time if his not delivering as expected.

I am not sure that Lewandowski will get a lot of chances next season if he doesn't score a proper number of goals. It will also depend on their activity in the transfer market. But his star isn't rising anymore to say the least. He has his qualities, but speed is a big question in my opinion, I like how he plays and he can play a good style within teams that suit him, but I am not sure that Barcelona is still the style he can benefit from. They are more about a high technique level and speed and Lewandowski is getting older and slower. The next season might be the one where he realizes that he is probably sitting more on the bench than getting time on the pitch.

Robert Lewandowski is currently above the age of 35 and as such, you don't expect him to continue be as prolific as he was during his 20s. Currently in the Barcelona team, they do not have any striker that's capable of challenging Robert Lewandowski for to no.9 role at the club and that why I don't expect him to struggle retain his place as the club's regular starter next season. The Poland international have been very impressive with his performances for the club and was one of the main reasons Barcelona win the Spanish La Liga last season. This season, he's be doing his best to help the club remain competitive despite the injuries that kept jim sidelined for some part of the season.
The club's current financial crises I don't think will permit them to sign a striker that'll be able to challenge Robert Lewandowski for the teams regular shirt next season so I think it's safe to say that we're still going to witness another season that the Poland international will remain as the club manager's first choice
