Yes, of course age has affected him so badly. There is no way he can deny the fact. I could remember back then when he could run so fast, strike without minding if he is going to have any injuries at the end. Its so painful that is coming to an end which he knows full well.
Bringing another striker to the team might work out well for them, but lets be honest how do you think the new striker would cope together in the pitch with Lewandowsky unless they will be starting the new striker instead of Lewandoski and then maybe during the second half they can bring him in to substitute and play for some time. Honestly he wont be Barcelona first choice of striker.
Lewandowski is a striker who so far I still consider a productive center forward in La Liga. He has scored 18 goals and 8 assists in La Liga this season in 34 appearances, certainly not bad for a center forward who will be 36 in August. Lewandowski is desperate to stay and become Barcelona's main center forward, but ultimately he may face competition considering Barcelona must also prepare to lose him in the coming seasons.
