That is very true @Op parents need to be at alert in raising their children, but the fact is that parents alone cannot raise their children. in the concept of nature-nurture controversy, the possibility of a child learning more from nature is greater than the possibility of a child learning from nurture controversy(parents). it is quite obvious that even the teachers cannot raise the children well but the irony of it here is that the child spent more of his or her time with peer groups, teachers both in schools, churches, and even at home. so, environments play a major role here.

Most parents are very busy types and always leave their children in the hands, of their tutors or instructors, or even minders and the child will grow with whatever character he or she learns from them. when a child is born according to john locke the child's brain is like an empty slate, so the child learns everything and records everything that enters his or her brain. raising a child is not the sole responsibility of the parents, anyone can raise a child and it is natural and that is why when you noticed that a child has misbehaved you will correct him without waiting for the parents. lastly it is pertinent to influence a child positively without waiting for the parents because it is for the good of the society and not only for the parents.
