But I have also the same question how do they check the quality of a post? If they have the automated posts like Identifying the spam are those are also automated at that time?

In the beginning, there was no post quality control and all posts were counted (except for boards where the signature is not visible), even the Twitter campaign report in the service section. Of course, this turned into abuse, so later Lauda was hired to clean it and exclude sig. spammers.
Again, after some time, the number of places in the campaign was limited and with the higher price of Bitcoin, the campaign became very attractive.
