It is true that Aston villa has achieved a great feat with unai emery by getting champions league football, but for me this is not enough reason to grant him a 5 year contract. Not to disregard the coach technical prowess, just what I do feel. The contract seem like a rush
This is good point we need to be had this with 2 years or 3 years better because giving 5 years contract is big deal and this can bring some problems for the both parties as well.
This seems to be the plan since the beginning[1]. Based on what I've read, the long-term contract is probably to ward off other clubs from approaching him in the middle of the season, likely because they will have to pay more to get his service. I'm not sure how much the money for breaking the contract is, but it sounds like Villa is confident this new contract will help them establish a longer partnership with him. I'm sure he's doing a good job behind the scenes, hence why the management is confident to reward him with this new contract.
