Please present your method to him with every detail, tutorial, screenshot, whatever is required to properly employ it.
If it is satisfactory you will have 0.33 BTC in your pocket as fast as the network allows.

To be honest, I will be surprised if he really has such a method.

Of course he has no method. Else he wouldn't sell it. If anyone can earn 0.04 BTC every day with this method, he would be able to earn many times that amount easily.

But he won't be able to scam anyone when he agrees to use escrow. So what is his goal?

What escrow can objetively say if a method is valid or not, if it works or not? He can send something that "can make sense", so he gets paid, and when the buyers tries it, (s)he might find out it's not anything.
It could even be based on a scam site - so even if the buyer "earns" the money, (s)he'll never receive it.

Everyone has the benefit of the doubt, but not having anyone to review the method doesn't look good.
