I don’t think Bayern Leverkusen needs a lot more new players if their current players are not leaving to join other teams now. He will only need few players to join to the team which I am sure will not be a big deal or a difficult one for the club to provide the finances for it. He can still build on his existing players to make them a formidable team as they were in this season. I have full faith in Xabi Alonso and I know he can’t do it again next season.
Improvement is a must for Leverkusen next season, despite they had a great performance this season. They will need a more quality and deeper squad when they will play in Champions League, the challenge will be bigger. Signing two or three players with better quality than current player is enough to add some freshness to the squad. They main task is to make sure their starting eleven staying at the club before they make signings.
Alonso need also to prepare some new variant tactics to enter next season. They can't keep playing the same tactics as this season for the whole next season, other teams will have anticipation on how play against them, and it will be harder season for them. Maintenance is more difficult than development, Alonso will need more support to maintain their performance to repeat the success.
Of course Leverkusen will consider new strategies that they can use to achieve victory in the new season's matches which will soon come. So far, the gaps in the strategy they used last season may already be known because every coach will evaluate the strategy used by the enemy and look for weaknesses. Every strength you have will definitely have a hidden weakness. Xabi Alonso is aware that the strength of a big team like Bayern Munich has weakened after many of its great players left and were injured, so Leverkusen can take advantage of this opportunity to improve its performance.
