Manchester United did everything posible to win the cup final and secure a place in the EL. I think that Chelsea expected a victory from City in the final, this would have given them a place in the EL and perhaps Pochettino’s further fate at Chelsea would have been different, but perhaps with this victory ten Hag retained his place in Manchester (we don’t know this for sure yet). But Chelsea and Manchester United did not have the best season, if a team cannot play in the Champions League, this is a weak result.
For Chelsea having spot into Europa Cup or Conference Cup is same with currently after Manchester United win they are having spot into Conference Cup which is also bonus because no one expecting this result from them, but their wins into last five games give them good chance for having this spot but still Mauricio Pochettino sacked because Boehly never love any person who want to interfere in transfer window which is main problem and after having this impressive end of this season now Mauricio Pochettino was thinking to have some talk about this with chairman, but he sacked him.
There is no doubt we all know Manchester United and Chelsea has never been on target for having positive end of the season but things done positive, and they were able to have something near the end which is good now how things will be settled in next season it's never been easy because we are still going to have few changes in coming days.
