I had a friend who was addicted to gambling and he used to share his secrets with me but when he shared about his gambling, I forbade him in various ways even one day i informed his parents. Since then my friend had heard various things about gambling from his parent, and he never shared gambling with me. I knew from his condition that he gambled but he hide all these things from me. But when I shared my gambling with him, he started behaving like before. He also tells me about his addiction and I just tell him to take a break. And give him a tip that it is never possible to get rich overnight in gambling. (As he does not play lottery games). I told him you can gamble but don't dream of getting rich from here. He listened to my advice and after that he gambled but did not dream of getting anything as big as before.
