With the huge amount of money, they were able to bring in really good players. And since then they have not looked back. Now they are one of the world's best. They have one of the best squads in the whole world. Pep Guardiola has the capability to run to his daddy sheikh for huge amount of money if anything goes wrong slightly. But that was not the case before.
The case of Man City really confirm the saying that "what money cannot do, more money can". The influx of the oil money changed everything for the club because I can still remember how they were just an average team, struggling alongside West Ham and Everton at the same rating until Arab money came and revitalized the team. There was money to sign key players and a great coach that initiated the transformation process. Newcastle was another team that enjoyed the inflow of oil money but could not achieve the same result as Man City.
