Players like this make the EPL what it is today. The EPL is known as a league that constantly attracts the top talents in the world to the league. Haaland is a beauty to watch and despite the fact that I'm not a city fan, I enjoy watching him play. As a matter of fact, he was my talisman in the fantasy premier league. Strikers like Haaland have been absent in the premier league for a long time, the last prolific striker I knew was Suarez at Liverpool, then Kane and now Haaland. Not sure anyone else comes close.
The English Premier League have experienced so many great strikers in football history and despite Erling Haaland's prolificity, he's still miles away to catch up with the highest scoring strikers in the competition's history. Erling Haaland without doubt is very clinical and always converting his chances which is why he's always been celebrated as one of the best strikers in modern football but if I were to be a manager, I'll definitely not use a striker like Haaland in my team.
In as much that the Norwegian is always converting chances, he finds it difficult to create chances or fall back to collect ball when the opposing team seem to difficult to break. Erling Haaland is always waiting for already made passes so he can convert. The manner at which he controls ball in his feet isn't great enough for a striker of his calibre. Always running out of ideas on how to dribble past defenders.
I have a slightly different idea, Haaland is not the key factor that helped Man City win the championship. Erling Haaland is a small player in a big match, he always fails in the final. Typically, the 2024 FA Cup final, lost 1-2 to Mu. When not scoring or assisting, Haaland played the entire match and did not create any chances for his teammates. And Haaland is also considered one of the reasons why Man City stopped playing in Europe's most prestigious playground. In the quarterfinals of the Champions League, Man City lost to Real Madrid. Haaland's lackluster partly caused Man City to fail. Actually, Haaland always disappears in important moments.
However, few people can match Haaland's scoring record each season. Won the title of top scorer in the Premier League for 2 consecutive years.
