Looking at the numbers, there's no doubt to the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo have done exceptionally well to help his darling Al Nassr win trophies this season but unfortunately for the Portuguese superstar, his contributions weren't enough to help his club win any trophy in the just concluded season.
Indeed. Ronaldo scored many goals in this season, he could score 44 goals in 1 season. No one doubt his ability as a machine goal, Ronaldo is still one of the great strikers in the world. However, winning a trophy needs a solid game of the whole players. It is useless if the defense is weak, Al Nassr still can't win the trophy although Ronaldo can be the top scorer. I don't know if it is about the unsuitable tactic but the quality of the defense of Al Nassr is clearly rather weak. It is normal if people blame the defenders of Al Nassr besides they blame the coach, too.
AL Nassr has money to buy players that will be able to strengthen their defensive and also good midfielders  including a good coach. So whatever is the problem, they should solve it so that they can be able to challenge their rivals next season and win the league, because I see that the advantage that AL Hilal is having over AL Nassr is that they have a very good squad to win the league. With good strikers like Ronaldo, if they have professional players in other areas, Al Hilal will bow down to them and surrender the league to them.
It's one thing for a club to have prolific attacking players but a different thing to have a strong defense line. Al Nassr have the former but doesn't have the latter and that's why they failed to win any major trophy this season despite having striker like Cristiano Ronaldo who was easily the highest scoring striker in the league and in the whole of Asia in the just concluded league. Al Nassr like you rightly said have the financial strength to sign the best players in the Saudi Pro League so I think they'll definitely strengthen the club's defense line ahead of next season. If they can have a good defense line that rarely concede goals while having an attacking line that's scoring goals for fun, Al Nassr will definitely be a club to beat come next season. Cristiano Ronaldo isn't happy that he couldn't win a major trophy with the club in the just concluded season and if the club doesn't make major signings that'll help improve the team, the Portuguese superstar might just leave the club any time soon because he loves winning trophies and that I don't think the club management will ever want to happen.
