Any reason why you say that the Freebitco players get paid $5 to post on Bitcointalk? This is the first time I hear it.
It's not that they pay anyone posting on the forum.
They give $5 to anyone posting screensheet of winning the two biggest prizes of their faucets.

It goes up with a regular speed, doesn't matter when you visit the website, the speed of users registering on Freebitco is the same, I haven't seen a little delay in a number of registered users. To be fair, I never trust any live statistics that shows the number of registering users in live with some other live statistics.

The stats page is cached on Cloudflare and it updates hourly. The counter just runs at the current rate of increase so when you refresh the page you go back to when the page was last updated.
