On the field for Barcelona, not everything is so bad, and they are able to cope with the current problems. I don’t believe that there are hopeless situations, and for Flicк everything is not so bad, he has a very good team at his disposal, of course there is something to work on, but Xavi should not have said that Barcelona will not be able to compete with Real Madrid with the current squad, at least because it will undermine the players' confidence in their capabilities.
Last season, Barcelona was actually not a team competing for the title, even though they performed stable or not too bad, in fact we only saw fierce competition between Girona and Real Madrid at the top of the standings. Even though at the end of the season Barcelona was able to take second place as their finishing place, in the middle of the season it was Girona that attracted the attention of many people last season.
Thus, Hansi Flick certainly has a tough task next season where he must bring Barcelona to compete with Real Madrid in the race for the title. In my own opinion, sacking Xavi Hernandez was Barcelona's worst decision in recent years. If a truth, Barcelona didn't challenge Real Madrid for the title as much as many of us had predicted but let's not shy away from the fact that the club had very limited number of quality players at their disposal. The club in recent years haven't been active enough in the transfer market because of their weak financial strength but even in the face of all that, Barcelona were still competing in not just the Spanish La Liga but also in the UEFA Champions League competition.
Hansi Flick will have a very difficult task to do at the club and I think those difficulties will likely make things even more difficult for him as the manager. Hopefully he succeeds and makes Barcelona to return back to competitive battle with the top clubs in Europe again.
