No one can actually dismiss the success of Bayern lavekusen and Xabi Alonso this year but maintaining that success is actually quite the most hardest part, well no doubt that they are playing good football but I think other teams next season will be on their guard as they have already known that this German team is no force to be reckoned with and that's probably what actually happened to them during their finals with Atlanta.
Coupled with that, I also feel that Bayern Leverkusen were over confident that they’ll triumph against Atalanta after the much success and praises they’ve had throughout the season with their unbeaten run. It was clear that they underplayed that day and Atalanta who had already prepared better and wanted a victory after losing one finals already were on top energetic mode. It was a lesson to be learn by them, I actually love Atalanta’s victory that day because it was pure victory for them and not based on luck. They worked for it and deserved the victory.
Now the most important thing is that Leverkusen cannot lose its players who have contributed a lot this season. So that you can still make an equally good contribution next season. But currently many clubs are targeting Leverkusen players. And this is quite normal. Because it is a common thing that clubs that succeed in becoming champions always make the players in them the most popular players in the transfer market. Hopefully Leverkusen can retain their mainstay players and can still amaze us next season. Be it in the Bundesliga or in the UCL.
There are some players that you don’t gamble with no matter the price tag a club that’s interested in them place on them, that is because you’ll lose your value as a club if you don’t do well that season and be called a one season wonder shine club. Keep the most important ones and convince the management to keep them no matter what, even if it means increasing their pay. Leicester did the same that year and lost their value just after that season. Bayern Leverkusen should stick to their players that gave them this victory, they need them to continue to be at the top next season again.
