It has become commonplace in football that something surprising happens, Girona has created new competition in the Champions League zone which means other teams need to improve their quality next season. Barcelona is still Real Madrid's rival in the title race even though they are currently experiencing financial difficulties, the rivalry between the two will always be fierce because of the team's history of always being competitors in this competition.
The arrival of a new coach will mean that Barcelona will be filled with several new players next season. Flick will make Barcelona more developed with the philosophy that was used with Bayern Munich. He is a great coach, Barcelona has high hopes for him. Several new players are starting to be targeted to build a squad to provide competition to Real Madrid, which is increasingly difficult to beat after Mbappe presence in the squad.
You know, I'm not anti-Barcelona even though I'm a Real Madrid fan. I admit that Hansi Flick can give Ancelotti and all the other coaches in La Liga some healthy competition, but considering the depth of Barcelona's current squad then I think they are too far gone to hope for the title. There is the possibility of Hansi Flick's great run at Barcelona in his first season, but he will have to work extra hard from the start.
There is no better reason to underestimate Barcelona next season. They have a good squad to beat anyone regardless of quality, age or experience. Their attack line is still fine, as are the midfielders. Improvements will probably focus on defense considering that was the problem they experienced last season. Of course Real Madrid is the favourite, but I believe Barcelona is the second favourite.
